ZYKLON is one of those bands people started worshiping before they were ever heard. I mean come on. It was the new band of Samoth, all mighty guitarist of EMPEROR, and Luymb, Slinger, Trym was also around for the mix. Last years “World Of Worms” did very little for me. It was your average piece of metal in my opinion. And Samoth had plenty to prove, because no one is living off of past achievements in my book.
The vocals supplied by Damon of LIMBONIC ART were weak and the guitars were just too furious, with no embodiment at all, in my opinion, and Trym was the highlight of the record. It was a bit on the boring side.
Oh what a difference an album can make. This muther fucker slays ass! The riffing is amazing and slow enough. I think you will actually be able to see their fingers as five digits instead of one big blur, and the drums again are solid as hell, and the vocals--wow! I don’t really know who this cat is. “Secthdamon” is his name, and he shreds, and the guitars are like Sir Mix-A-Lot on crack. “Guitars got back,” beeeeatches!
Death metal album of the year number two, right now. If you’re looking for EMPEROR, look other places. If you’re looking for something to run in line with BEHEMOTH and VITAL REMAINS, look no further. (That was a DEAD RIVER song, by the way--“Look No Further.”)
