Review:
Another haunting concept album from the modern day master of metal macabre, King
Diamond scores yet another blow to man's fragile psyche with "The Graveyard".
This masterfully done 1996 release, like King's previous releases, weaves a dark
tale involving an escape mental patient hiding out in a cemetery, ghostly
voices, kidnapping and dark revelations delivers the same artfully done, guitar
driven metal with King's trademark, unmistakable vocals that metal fans have
come to expect from dark metal's godfather. "The Graveyard" also features Andy
LaRoque and Herb Simonsen blowing out the walls with a solo laden, twin guitar
attack that, as always, never fails to impress.
"The Graveyard" is sure to give the most hardened metal fans fitful nightmares
for a good, long time.
